5QN Advent Adventures

Katie Backler reports back after a hugely successful afternoon of advent craft

A few weeks ago the large hall was transformed into a buzzing mass of adults and children making the most incredible array of advent crafts. There was something to suit everyone… nativity mobiles, crackers, candles, fimo jewellery, biscuit decorating to mention a few. There was the chance for adults to have a yarn over a cuppa and mince pie or sing along to their favourite Christmas song!

Loads of friends came and joined us which was hugely encouraging – they loved it and had a blast.

5QN is all about building community with those around us and introducing people to Jesus….we came a bit closer to that vision in doing this.

If you would like to find out more about 5QN please visit the mbc website or email Katie at katie@mbc.org.uk.

MBC and biblefresh – Sunday 27th February

21 Feb 2011 | | Posted in EventsNo Comments

Next week, on Sunday 27 February here at mbc, we want to play our part in the Biblefresh Initiative for 2011  in an all age service at 10.30am which celebrates God’s written word, the Bible. Please can you bring your much loved Bible to church that day – it might be a family Bible, it might be an old, well-thumbed Bible from a previous generation, it might be the translation that you prefer using. Kids, bring your Children’s/Toddler Bible and young people with youth bibles, bring them along too!  We’ll have time to look at it altogether, lift it up to God for illumination and encouragement and gather together all ages around it.

MBC youth raise over £100 for Just Christmas!

The mbc youth got busy in the kitchen over the festive period and made over 300 cakes to sell at the Alternative Christmas Service!

All donations for the delightfully decorated Christmas bakes went straight towards the Just Christmas appeal. Donations for Just Christmas are beginning to come in and mbc youth are keen to sponsor a child as part of their way to share the love this Christmas time. Be inspired to do likewise and play your part towards a Just Christmas.

MBC youth weekend away 2010

18 Oct 2010 | | Posted in Events, YouthNo Comments

45 youth and a great team of leaders headed to Lendrick Muir for a weekend packed full of fun, talks, worship, ministry and a whole lot of dancing!

The youth were joined by the amazing Beth Tash, who is the youth pastor at St Georges, Leeds. Beth spoke challengingly to the youth about our calling to live a life of holiness for God, and explained how holiness is good for us, good for God, good for each other and good for mission.

On the Saturday night, there was a fancy dress party with the theme “countries of the world”, with some phenomenal outfits on display as well as some impressive dance moves! Other activities over the weekend included 5-a-side football, mountain biking, archery, rounder’s, nail painting, and a fair amount of chilling as well!!
