morningside baptist church world mission
We believe that although we are members of a particular
fellowship here at Morningside Baptist Church in Edinburgh, we
are all part of the world-wide body of Christ.
We're also affected by and contribute to the life
of the world-wide church.
MBC has a world mission team which aims to make
this connection a reality by bringing the global dimension to
us here in Edinburgh.
We see it as a priority to support BMS World
Mission and are able to, through them, support a couple involved
in development work in North Africa. In addition, we help support
a lady working in Ghana, and the local Friends International worker
among international students here in Edinburgh. We encourage people
to get involved in short term projects as well.
On a slightly different note,
MBC is building a link with one of the Baptist Churches in Croatia,
exploring ways in which we can help one another in our witness
to the Lord Jesus Christ. Through the Youth Ministries Team we
have been involved in a programme of aid and youth camps under
the auspices of Carpathian Aid.
We recognise that the significant
international community in Edinburgh means that opportunities
for world mission are here on our doorstep, and we praise God
that Christians from other cultures worshipping and witnessing
with us add richly to our fellowship.
