...serving older people in Edinburgh
Thi aim of this Missional Expression is to be a witness and support in care/nursing homes (staff and residents) within the City of Edinburgh, and to look for other opportunities to serve older people in the community.
We regularly visit the residents at Colinton Care Home where we serve them by running different activities, which always end with us singing some old Scottish songs or hymns! When we are there we work with them one on one, getting to know them and love them as individuals.
We also meet regularly for Bible study, fellowship and prayer, generally on Wednesday evening.
We are continuing to develop new ideas and listen to God's direction in our outreach and are looking to reach different groups within the community. We are developing the ways in which we serve older people in our community through befriending, one-to-one activities and even practical help such as painting and decorating! We have been really encouraged by the way God is working through Mosaic and are excited to see the outworking of God's plan in our community.
