Thi aim of this Missional Expression is to be a witness and support to care/nursing homes (staff and residents) within the City of Edinburgh, and to look for other opportunities to help older people in the community.
Our first steps will be to start with TOR Christian Nursing Home on Corstorphine Road. This home was set up by the Baptist Churches of the area. Within the TOR, there are a wide variety of volunteer tasks which could be undertaken - befriending, assisting with resident care, reception, religious services, assisting with the maintenance of building and grounds, escort on bus outings etc.
Once a team is set up at TOR, we would look to provide similar support to other homes in the area. Mosaic could use people of all ages and abilities, as long as they have a real concern for the well-being of the elderly.
