what do you believe?

We at Morningside Baptist Church believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the hope of the world.

The Gospel message tells of the God of creation who has loved the millions of individuals in this world so much that He allowed His one and only Son - Jesus Christ to leave the majesty of heaven and come to live among us here on earth.

Jesus spoke of His Father’s love for mankind but His words of love and forgiveness were rejected. Jesus was cruelly executed on a Roman cross.

This however was not the end of His rescue mission but the beginning. Jesus’death and resurrection paid the price for the sins of the world and opened up a way for each and every individual to know God.

Jesus said ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me’. (John 14:6)

We believe that it is only through knowing Jesus that we can begin to experience God’s amazing love and forgiveness and enter into a new and living relationship with Him.

sharing God relevantly

As a missionary church we at MBC are committed to sharing God in relevant ways with those we know and love.

We believe that each Christian is commanded to live out the lifestyle of knowing Jesus where ever they have been placed. We are called witness for Jesus, in our schools, universities, work places, families and communities.

This is not always easy and we seek to support and pray for each other in this calling.

During our regular Sunday services we seek to preach Christ and explain the Gospel week by week. We do put on special events to introduce friends and family to the church and more importantly to Jesus.

We are committed to reaching the local community that God has placed us in and seek to do this through community action and social involvement as well proclamation preaching.

Morningside Baptist Church is also a member of the Holy Corner Christian Community.

If you've have questions and want to understand what it means to be a Christian and want to know the person of Jesus Christ, we run regular Alpha courses at which you'd be really welcome to explore life with us.

For those who have completed an Alpha course and wish to further examine the Christian faith, we provide an Alpha Plus course and 2:7 Discipleship courses.

we are all on a journey - where are you heading?
